Background: Through the Department of Community Development, per San Juan County Code 2.22.020 and Ordinance 8-2011, Ordinance 30-2008 and Ordinance 3-1994, provides for a hearing examiner system. The hearing examiner shall interpret, review, and implement land use regulations and may perform such other quasi-judicial functions or conduct other non-legislative hearings as are delegated by the County council.
